"New Memories in Old Places" is an emotional dreamscape best enjoyed on headphones, with your eyes closed.

Thematically related to "The Day I Met Myself", this new album presents Keller's most "ambient" chamber music to date, in which everything becomes background.

About this music, Kevin Keller says, "Nature has its own language, and the sounds of nature, be they wind, birds, or crickets, affect us on a deep emotional level. I've often wondered what it would be like to really dive into these emotions, and create a musical conversation between natural sounds and musical instruments.

This is very different than your typical 'music with nature sounds'. Rather than placing music arbitrarily over the sounds of ocean waves and birdcalls, I've carefully combined the sounds and emotions of nature with subtle, purely emotional music. The outcome is that the listener is immersed in the pure emotions of time and place. The music becomes woven into the natural surroundings, and vice versa.

Wildcat Canyon (near Berkeley, California) is a truly magical and emotional place, and over many years of hiking its trails, I've built up a deep connection with it. All of the sounds on this album were recorded in Wildcat Canyon on a single afternoon, and they were carefully edited into a continuous journey - from the idyllic eucalyptus stands near Jewel Lake to the lonely, windswept hillsides near Wildcat Peak."
